Clean mud tank usually takes 4 workers get into the tank and spend 4-5 hours for thoroughly cleaning, but with GN tank cleaning system it easy to reduce the labor work and also save time greatly. GN Solids Control just finished manufacturing of another set automatic tank cleaning unit for an offshore drilling platform. It will be used to clean the drilling mud tank effectively by using 2 high pressure flushing nozzles. Below are the main components in this tank cleaning unit.

1.Automatic Flushing Gun
Equipped with 2 sets of high pressure flushing guns, this tank cleaning unit can use the after cleaned water to flush the offshore drilling mud tank effectively. GN Solids Control standard tank cleaning system is fixed with 1 flushing gun, by customized the discharge port, this GN automatic tank cleaning system can reduce the working time to only half which is around 2 hours.

2.Mud Suction Unit
Mud suction unit is using peristaltic type to suction the tank sludge with a prefilter component. Peristaltic cannot work continuously, but it can successfully move sludge with big solids or high content solids.
3.Mud Clarify Unit
Mud clarify unit is an inclined plate classifier indeed. By mounting dozens SS plates to increase the tough surface, it is able to separate the solids out and discharged by a bottom screw conveyor.
Equipped with one compact chemical dosing tank to provide flocculant into the IPC, finer solids can be removed effectively.

4.Mud Storage and Transfer Unit
After treated clean water is stored in a middle tank, which can be reused for tank cleaning.

5.Waste Cuttings Box
Recovered solids or cuttings can be hold by a waste cuttings box, which is convenient to open by crane of forklift.

Decanter centrifuge is one of the main products in GN production line. It is usually used for solid-liquid separation, and some three-phase decanter centrifuges will also be used for liquid-liquid-solid separation. The process of solid-liquid separation or liquid-liquid-solid separation is often encountered in the process of modern industrial production. A typical application of decanter centrifuge is used as sludge dewatering equipment in the process of municipal sewage treatment. In order to speed up the cleaning and transportation of sludge, the sludge at the bottom of the tank needs to be dewatered. Adding flocculants to the sludge can better make the fine particles in the sludge gather into flocs. After the flocculated sludge enters the centrifuge, the separated clean water will be relatively clear. GN T series dewatering decanter centrifuge is a centrifuge product specially designed by GN for environmental protection water treatment industry, which can be adapted to sludge with high solid content. The screw blade and slag discharge port are protected by tungsten carbide plate or alloy sleeve, which can prolong the service life of the equipment.

Another typical application of decanter centrifuge is to separate fine drilling cuttings from drilling mud in the mud system. The drilling mud treated by centrifuge can be reinjected into the mud system for recycling. The decanter centrifuge in widely used in mud systems of oil and gas drilling, horizontal directional drilling, TBM, and even some construction mud treatment projects.

In order to meet different working conditions or different feeding conditions on site, according to customer requirements, GN can equip the decanter with VFD control cabinet to achieve different treatment objectives by adjusting the speed. At the same time, the control cabinet is also equipped with the relevant control of the screw feeding pump, which can realize the start and stop interlock function of the feed pump and the centrifuge, and improve the safety of field work and the reliability of equipment operation.

GN Solids Control has provided many sets of drilling cuttings drying shakers to the offshore drilling service companies for many years. This March, GN Solids Control finished manufacturing of 3 sets offshore drilling cuttings drying shaker units for COSL. Every unit mainly includes the following GN components:
1.GN Hi-G Drying Shaker
GN Hi-G Drying Shaker is a 4 panels shaker, fixed with 2 horizontal vibrators to keep the shaker running in linear direction. GN Solids Control only used Italy OLI or USA Martin vibrators, which are proven work steady with GN shakers in harsh environment. 
GN Solids Control build single deck and double deck shakers, which are function well in different rig sites. To keep the shaker screens from blocking, GN smartly fix spraying nozzles to flush the screens after use for a long while, also the anti-spraying cover protect the splashed drilling mud everywhere. 
Feeding box is customized for this offshore drilling shaker. It includes 3 manual valves to control and feeding volume into the shaker. 

2.GN Mud Tank
GN mud tank is build according to the offshore standard, the mud tank compact with a DNV standard lifting frame. And mud tank is painted strictly according to the offshore working environment. 
3.GN Centrifugal Pump
GN centrifugal pump fixed on the side of the mud tank, which can be used to move the after treated drilling mud from the drying shaker. GN centrifugal pump is totally interchangeable with NOV Mission Magnum pump. While it is with a good wear resistant and long time usage advantage. 
4.GN Mud Agitator  
To keep the drilling mud from sediment in the shaker tank, a GN mud agitator is fixed on the top of the tank

GN Solids Control shipped two sets of ATEX explosion proof standard decanter centrifuges to a Middle East oil service company last week after these days hard work. GN Solids Control has sold and manufactured more than 50 sets decanter centrifuges since the beginning of this year.

GN Solids Control is able to manufacture Europe ATEX, IEC Ex, and CNEX standard explosion proof standard motors and electrical control boxes for global drilling companies and oil service companies. As for these 2 sets centrifuges, they are both ATEX Zone 1 standard with VFD, explosion proof air conditioners guarantee the centrifuge working in the hot temperature up to +55 C degree.
These two ATEX VFD centrifuges are both 14 inch bowl size. To meet the harsh working environment, GN Solids Control use duplex stainless steel to build the rotating bow, and along the screw propeller it is fixed with tungsten carbide tiles to protect the propeller running a long time with a very small weariness.
GN VFD control box is fixed with a smart HMI, all centrifuge working parameters can be changed or working conditions can be monitored on it.The two main centrifuge bearings are fixed with temperature sensors and centrifuge frame fixed with vibration sensor, signal lines connected with the PLC which is also able to remind workers in case there are any abnormal alarms.

GN decanter centrifuges are widely used in the drilling mud solids control. And some big bowl like 18 inch and 22 inch centrifuges are also very popular in the barite recovery or drilling mud control or drill cuttings waste management.

Recently, GN shipped out one set 3-hase decanter centrifuge including VFD control cabinet to Middle East client coming from environmental company. 3 Phase decanter centrifuge is one of GN main products, different from the 2-phase decanter centrifuge, it is used for separation of mixture of solids and two types of immiscible liquids and solids.

The 3 phase decanter centrifuge shipped is the model GNSX520 with bowl diameter 520mm. It adopts the electrical dual-motor driving system. The main motor is driving the bowl and the back motor is driving the screw via pulley device. This model is equipped with a VFD control cabinet. Inside the control cabinet, there are 3 VFDs for main motor, back motor and the feeding pump. Operator can set up the running parameters in the HMI touch screen to adjust the running condition, like bowl speed, scroll speed to obtain the expected performance. GN 3-phase decanter centrifuge is equipped with lube oil circulating system for the main bearing lubrication. This real time lubrication system ensures the stable running of the machine.

In order to extend the service life of the 3-phase decanter centrifuge, GN adopts tungsten material protection at the screw blades, and installs wear-resistance bushing at the slag discharge port. There are 2 ports at the bottom of the collection box, the slag and the light liquid phase will be discharged respectively from these two ports, while the heavy liquid phase is discharged out by using the centripetal pump. Operator can adjust the lever to obtain a suitable interface of oil and water to get the more clear oil or water.

GN 3-phase decanter centrifuge has a widely application like plant edible oil production, kitchen waste treatment, etc. One of the typical applications is used in GN oil sludge treatment system as a combination equipment to replace the 2-phase decanter centrifuge and disc stack separator. GN Solids Control delivered one batch of hydraulic decanter centrifuges and vacuum pumps to Africa, where all GN equipment will be used in an oil sludge treating plant. 
GN Solids Control has been building decanter centrifuges for many years, classified by the decanter centrifuge driven unit, GN Solids Control is able to provide fully hydraulic drive centrifuge and electrical drive centrifuge. GN Solids Control works with Viscotherm and Rotodiff from Switzerland to develop the fully hydraulic drive 14 inch bowl centrifuge GNLW363-FHD. Centrifuge rotating bowl as well as the screw propeller are both using Rotodiff hydraulic motor. 
By using hydraulic drive system, GN Solids Control centrifuge can work in high temperature with flexible rating speed when treat heavy PPG drill mud. GN professional engineers deign this fully hydraulic centrifuge in a compact lifting structure. 

With wear resistant rotating bowl of duplex stainless steel 2304 or 2205, SS304 screw propeller, GN decanter centrifuge can work in most harsh environment. Furthermore, GN Solids Control centrifuge is using tungsten carbide tiles to cover the edge of screw propeller. And the main two bearings are genuine SKF brand.  
Besides the decanter centrifuge, GN Solids Control also provides 2 sets vacuum pumps includes one 40 m3/h and one 20 m3/h. GN vacuum pump is especially designed to move high solids content sludge, in fact as long as the material is moveable, GN vacuum pump can have excellent working performance. 

GN Vacuum Pump is driven by air which demands an Air Compressor. All the components on the vacuum pump are either mechanical parts or air parts without any electrical parts, so GN vacuum pump can be used in any hazardous environment.

Recently GN shipped out one unit of 3 phase disc separator that would be used for seabuckthorn oil production. Seabuckthorn oil is natural oil extracted from seabuckthorn fruit. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and trace elements. It has high medicinal value, which makes It can not only play a health care role in cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, liver and respiratory system, but also help to strengthen brain and intelligence.

In the production of seabuckthorn oil, the seabuckthorn fruit needs to be cleaned and ground to separate the oil from the fruit cells, and then extracted. After grinding, seabuckthorn fruit forms a mixture of fruit residue, water and oil. If you want to extract the oil from the mixture, you need three-phase separation, and the disc machine can achieve this purpose.

Disc separator is a high-speed centrifugal separation equipment. The materials fed into it are usually solid-liquid mixture or liquid mixture with different densities. The disc separator bowl rotates at high speed. Due to the density difference, the materials in the equipment will form stratification under the action of centrifugal force; the solid phase will sink and be discharged from the slag discharge port, while the liquid phase will be discharged from the outlet at the top of the equipment under the action of centripetal pump.

1. 4 sets GNMS-1000D Pipe Jacking Slurry Separation Systems
GNMS-1000D pipe jacking slurry system includes a double deck shaker which is fixed with 2 sets 10 inch desander cyclones. A collect tank underneath shaker is used to stock the the clean slurry after treated by the bottom shaker, a centrifugal pump suck the slurry and feed into the big cyclones for a second separation. 

2. 1 set GNTBM-240 TBM Slurry Separation System
GNTBM-240 slurry separation system is a compact structure treating unit especially designed in TBM industry. It is mainly composed by shaker, desander, desilter and 2 slurry pumps. 
GNTBM-240 is able to treat 240 m3/h slurry with high percentage of solids and big particles. Most of the solids are removed in the bottom coarse shaker first. To meet the demands of anti high abrasion, GN Solids engineers have done many special designs, such as all the shaker feeding box are covered with wear resistant PU, all the connecting ports are thoroughly protected as well.  

3. 3 sets GNMS-1500D Pipe Jacking Slurry Separation Systems  

Besides the above mentioned GN separation systems, this Asian client also purchased 3 sets GNMS-1500D pipe jacking slurry treating plants. Similar with the 1000 GPM system, GNMS-1500D also includes a double deck shaker, 2 big 14 inch cyclones and a 75kw slurry pump.
